"Hi, I’m John Mitchell, the founder of J Mitchell Consulting Inc. I’m a crazy dad of two, an annoying husband, and a technology enthusiast. My journey into the world of technology started in grade school when I would take apart all my Christmas electronic gifts the day I got them to see how they worked. I was always curious and loved experimenting, even building robots from the parts I collected. This passion for technology only grew stronger over the years.

I pursued a degree in Electronics Engineering Technology and got sidetracked into computers at a mom-and-pop computer store. This tiny computer store allowed me to experience sales, integration, and support for small businesses.

I was a tech, shop manager, sales person and eventually a network engineer there. I left the computer store for a corporate job, which gave me a more understanding of how larger companies worked and better understanding of their IT needs. I still had a few moonlighting clients I helped after hours only when they had something break. I realized there was a gap in the market for a more personalized, proactive approach to IT services. Too many businesses were struggling with reactive, break-fix solutions that only addressed problems after they occurred. I wanted to change that.

So, I founded J Mitchell Consulting Inc. with a simple mission: to provide flat-rate Managed IT Services that not only fix issues but prevent them from happening in the first place. Our goal is to help businesses reduce costs, lower risks, increase productivity, and avoid the headaches that come with technology.

Over the years, we’ve grown from a small startup to a trusted partner for businesses in the Knoxville and surrounding area.
